A little bit of history
Mum and Dad owned a jewellery shop, specializing in watch and clock repairs, and we lived in the flat above it. Dad was an instrument maker during WWII, which led to him taking up the trade of watch and clock repair.
Although Dad is gone, the shop is still there – renamed Bezels by the current owners. If you ever find yourself in Bradford-on-Avon, take a stroll down to 3 The Shambles. Although I grew up surrounded by the business, my official apprenticeship started at the age of 16. I worked with Dad until I was 20 and left with a solid grounding in basic horology. I then went to the Omega Watch Company in Bath, England, where I worked for 4 years. While there, I had the opportunity to work on watches with “grand complications”, i.e.: chronographs, alarms, perpetual moon phase calendars.
It was then I struck out for Canada, and landed in Port Credit. I’m still ticking here after all these years! In my own business, I continue to strive to improve my standard of workmanship. I believe in the importance of keeping up-to-date with the latest technology, while remaining true to the traditional craft of horology.
